Recently, Fixer Upper fans have started to think that Chip and Joanna Gaines are flaunting their wealth and success. With their newest release of the popular show, some fans believe they are showing off a little too much.
Fixer Upper Family On The Go
While the thriving Fixer Upper couple, Chip and Joanna Gaines, are undeniably successful, some fans think they are rubbing it in everyone’s faces. Undoubtedly, impressively, these two juggle many passion projects while also raising five kids: Drake, 19, Ella, 17, Duke, 16, Emmie, 14, and Crew, 5. Admittedly, work-life balance is a myth for this family. Not only are they taking on new Fixer Upper specials, but they also run their network, Magnolia Network. Additionally, they are bringing three new TV series to Max streaming. However, they are getting some pushback for their latest special, Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse.
Fans Blast Chip & Joanna Gaines For Parading Success
Although Chip and Joanna Gaines have made a significant name for themselves with the Fixer Upper brand, they are getting some pushback for their most recent endeavor. In a trailer shared on social media, some fans weren’t shy about blasting Chip and Joanna for parading their success. One person comments, “I don’t like watching HGTV personalities renovating their own luxury second or third homes.” Furthermore, the Instagram user adds, “It looks like they’re showing off.” Others also began commenting:
- “Is this for them or are they going to sell it?”
- Another commenter speculates, “My guess for them. The houses on Fixer Upper were basically people they knew, friends, or coworkers. Plus, they can probably write this all off as work/business expense?”
Chip & Joanna Gaines Have Lost Some Followers
Additionally, other Fixer Upper viewers chime in with opinions about the direction Chip and Joanna Gaines have taken their business.
- “I stopped watching their show ever since they decided to charged for their network.”

- “Used to like them, but I don’t watch them any longer.”
- “Me neither they’re both so annoying.”
- “Chip is really annoying. His clowning around grates my nerves lol. Like is there ever a moment where you can have a conversation with him without the jokes? It used to be endearing. Now it’s just annoying.”
Other Fans Stand Up For Chip & Joanna Gaines
But some Fixer Upper fans were quick to stand up for Chip and Joanna Gaines.
- “What’s wrong with others’ success?”
- “Don’t be jealous, they’ve earned it.”
- “Actually the lake house will be for sale. That was said in the first episode.”
- “I can’t wait. The king and queen of remodeling ❤️.”

Trouble In Fixer Upper Paradise
Undeniably, Chip and Joanna Gaines are excited to take on the new lakehouse project on the 10th anniversary of the brand. But renovating as a couple isn’t without its challenges. After the Fixer Upper: The Hotel, seemingly, they were having more marital scuffles than usual. An insider told the National Enquirer, “Every day there was another crisis that left them at each other’s throats.” Furthermore, the source adds, “They were bickering constantly and getting little sleep.” They also shared, “It took every ounce of goodwill to stay on an even keel and get through it.” Undeniably, living and working together on so many projects while raising a family has to be difficult.
Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse premiered on HGTV on June 2 at 8/7c. Catch the six-episode series on both Magnolia Network and HGTV. Additionally, available to stream on both Max and Discovery+.
