Great American Family has announced another addition to the upcoming When Hope Calls Season 2B. They are adding Trevor Donovan to the series. Here are all the latest details about the When Calls The Heart spinoff series.
Here are the latest details.
Trevor Donovan Added To When Calls The Heart Spinoff
On Monday, Deadline reported that Trevor Donovan has been added to When Hope Calls Season 2B. Trevor will portray Constable Jim Reynolds. The Mountie is “known for his strong presence and skills in the field.” The Reagan actor will star in a two-episode arc.
However, it is possible that his role as the Constable could be extended on When Hope Calls, “if not other projects” from Janette Oke’s When Calls The Heart book series. This seems to indicate that Great American Family intends to create a cornucopia of When Calls The Heart-related series. However, this is the first indication and the network has not revealed any further plans.
Yet, Great American Media has shared that these episodes will premiere in 2025 on GAF, then on their steaming channel Great American Pure Flix.
WHC Season 1 originally premiered on the Hallmark Channel. This spinoff series featured two sisters, Lillian Walsh (Morgan Kohan) and Grace Bennett (Jocelyn Hudon) who started an orphanage in Brookfield in the late 1910s. However, when GAF took over the series with the first two episodes of Season 2 When Hope Calls Christmas, Hudon did not return and her character Grace moved across the pond. Instead, Lori Loughlin reprised her WCTH role as Abigail Stanton, and Daniel Lissing as Mountie Jack Thornton.
In addition to Morgan Kohan, who also stars in The CW’s Sullivan’s Creek, Wendy Crewson (Tess Stewart), Hanneke Talbot (Maggie Parsons), and RJ Tatanaka (Mountie Gabriel) have returned. In turn, Cindy Busby (Nora), Christopher Russell (Constable Mountie Michael), and Nick Bateman (Wyatt) have been added.
There will be eight episodes this season.
When Hope Calls Season 2B Will Be Released Almost Six Years After Premiere
When Hope Calls has had quite a long journey. The series premiered on August 29, 2019, on what is now called Hallmark+. Next, the Hallmark Channel aired it in early 2020. However, when the network did not renew the series, Great American Family took it over and renewed it for Season 2. The premiere was on December 18, 2021, the two-part Christmas special.
However, for nearly three years, there was no movement towards finishing up Season 2. Now, GAF has committed to complete the second season, with a premiere in early 2025.
Hearties are you looking forward to seeing Trevor Donovan in a two-episode arc on When Hope Calls?
