Stevie Nicks Debuts ‘The Lighthouse’ On Ariana Grande-Hosted ‘SNL’

Stevie Nicks debuted her new single “The Lighthouse” last night (Oct. 12) on the Ariana Grande-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, marking her first appearance on the show in 41 years. Released late last month, the track was inspired by the Supreme Court striking down the constitutional right to abortion in 2022.

“I have often said to myself, ‘this may be the most important thing I ever do,” the Fleetwood Mac legend said at the time. “To stand up for the women of the United States and their daughters and granddaughters — and the men that love them.’ This is an anthem.”

Nicks, 76, returned later in the episode to play her 1981 classic “Edge of Seventeen,” which usually closes the main set of her concerts. See both performances below.

Thanks to the presence of Grande, who was promoting her upcoming film Wicked, the show was packed with music-related comedy. Grande impersonated Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Gwen Stefani as part of her monologue, spoofed Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” during a wedding-themed sketch, offered a new spin on Celine Dion’s recent appearance in a Sunday Night Football commercial and belted out the Isley Brothers’ “Twist and Shout” while portraying a castrati.
