Netflix has acquired the post-apocalyptic vampire podcast Impact Winter, Deadline reports.
Skybound and Anonymous Content are developing the property as a series with Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend, Constantine) directing.
Created by Pacific Rim and Clash of the Titans screenwriter Travis Beacham, the Audible Original podcast is described as 30 Days of Night meets “The Last of Us.”
When a comet hits the earth, the sun is blocked out and humans become pitted against vampires. Two sisters find themselves on opposite sides of the war.
Lawrence and Beacham will executive produce alongside Cameron MacConomy, Rick Jacobs, Glenn Geller, Cliff Roberts, Bard Dorros, and Zack Hayden.
The podcast has racked up nearly 6 million subscribers since its launch in 2022. A fourth season, which is said to complete the story, is in the works for release later this year.
Lawrence recently wrapped production on an adaptation of Stephen King‘s The Long Walk. He’s developing sequels to I Am Legend and Constantine and is attached to helm a film based on the BioShock video games.
He’s also in talks to return to The Hunger Games franchise — for which he has helmed all but the first film — with The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, due out on November 20, 2026.
