Fresh from Steam Next Fest, Dark Machine Games and publisher DreadXP have released a new teaser trailer for their upcoming parkour horror title White Knuckle. The teaser shows off Habitation, one of the creepy environments players will have to navigate as they try to ascend the dangerous underground complex of SUB-STRUCTURE 17.
“We’ve been hard at work on the Third Region, Habitation, which will be featured at the start of Early Access,” explains Dark Machine Games. “Habitation is absolutely massive, and we just had to put together a teaser trailer to show some of what you might encounter as you try to escape SUBSTRUCTURE 17.”
In White Knuckle, you are a lone climber trapped in a decaying megacomplex deep underground, you must ascend SUB-STRUCTURE 17 using precision movement, sharp reflexes, and resource management. Scale crumbling walls, vault over treacherous gaps, avoid deadly traps, and evade the compound’s malevolent denizens as an encroaching and increasingly angry ooze rises below you, motivating you to climb swiftly or face your doom.
You’ll be able to employ a variety of tools to aid your ascent, but be mindful not to overfill your inventory, as the heavier you get, the harder it is to climb. You’ll need a hand to retrieve tools from your bag, but you also need them to hold on, so you’ll need to think quickly or you’re likely to slip.
White Knuckle launches into Early Access on Steam later this year. A demo is still available for you to try.
