Bear Witness to the Horrors That Await in New ‘Total Chaos’ Trailer [Watch]

With just a few weeks until Trigger Happy Interactive’s psychological survival horror game Total Chaos arrives on Steam, the devs have released a new trailer at the inaugural OTK Games Expo. The trailer grants viewers a glimpse of the horrors that await deep in the desolate mining outpost of Fort Oasis.

Described as a “pulse-pounding, atmospheric nightmare” that blends different eras of survival horror hallmarks, Total Chaos features classically-inspired resource management, methodical melee combat and gunplay, and haunting visuals with grotesque environments and creatures.

Originally conceived as an award-winning total conversion mod of Doom II, Total Chaos has been reimagined into a modern standalone experience, amplifying its chilling atmosphere and relentless tension for a new generation of players.

The game sees players assume the role of a Coast Guardsman who has washed up on the shores of Fort Oasis, a long-abandoned mining colony consumed by decay and an eerie, inescapable presence. A lone voice crackles through a walkie-talkie, beckoning him deeper into the island’s rotting ruins. But as hallucinations grow stronger and reality bends, the question lingers… is something watching, or is the horror all in his mind?

In typical Survival Horror fashion, players will monitor their vitals, fight off hunger, and tend to bleeding wounds. But survival in Total Chaos isn’t just physical — their mind may betray them before the island does.

In addition, you’ll need to scavenge to survive. That means searching the ruins for scrap and supplies to craft makeshift weapons. Axes, hammers, and whatever else can be scavenged are the only defensive options. Firearms are rare, and every bullet is precious.

Be aware, as when your madness takes hold, the world itself begins to change. Hidden passageways emerge, walls shift, and the line between hallucination and reality begins to blur.

Total Chaos will launch July 24 on PC via Steam.
