While everyone pretty much knew that Final Destination Bloodlines would do big things at the box office this year, no one expected it to go on to set a franchise record as the highest-grossing film in the series. Now, after raking in more than $257 million dollars, the horror hit is coming home to digital next week, with a Blu-ray release not far behind.
Per Bloody Disgusting, Final Destination Bloodlines will hit all VOD platforms in North America on June 17, and is already available to pre-order on outlets such as Amazon, where you can snag a digital copy for $24.99. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the sixth film in the franchise hit theaters on May 16, and would go on to earn $51.6 million in its opening weekend, which was the biggest debut ever for a Final Destination movie. Not only is it the largest money-maker in the series, but it’s also the one critics loved most, as it currently boasts a Certified Fresh score of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Starring Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Brec Bassinger, Tony Todd, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, and Anna Lore, Final Destination Bloodlines features Juana as a college student who inherits her grandmother’s premonition that averted a deadly catastrophe in 1968. Decades later, she’s warned that Death is coming for her family, and works to break the cycle to save her loved ones from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.
