Where To Stream The Best Emmy-Winning Shows of 2025

Held live on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California, the 2025 Emmys had a few surprises. One of them was Collin Farrell’s failure to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his widely celebrated performance in The Penguin. Only Murders in the Building was also a strong favorite for Best Comedy Series, only to lose out to The Studio.

Despite a few complaints about the host, the event was pleasant. According to the Associated Press, the 77th Primetime Emmy ceremony was watched by 7.42 million people in America, making it the most-viewed Emmys since 2020, representing an impressive 8% increase over 2025’s ceremony. Out of the numerous shows that were nominated, only nine won awards (excluding the reality and variety kind). These shows are ideal to watch if you are keen about quality, so here’s where to stream them.

Here’s where to stream all 9 scripted shows that won Emmy awards in 2025.

    ‘Somebody Somewhere’ (2022 – 2024)

In Somebody Somewhere, Sam (Bridget Everett), a forty-something woman, returns to her Kansas hometown after the death of her sister only to end up feeling stifled and stalled. As she tries to overcome her grief and establish a sense of belonging, she reconnects with Joel (Jeff Hiller), a meek co-worker who introduces her to an exciting community.

A Career Peak for Jeff Hiller

Nominated for two Emmys, Somebody Somewhere won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, losing the Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series Award. Hiller’s win was something worth punching the air for, as he was up against heavyweights like Harrison Ford (Shrinking) and Colman Domingo (The Four Seasons). This was also a major break for him, after years of minor roles. Even better, this was only the second time he had ever been nominated for an award.

Stream it on HBO Max, Hulu, and Disney+

    ‘Andor’ (2022 – Present)

Give Diego Luna a character and he will make him impossibly cool. That’s the case with Andor’s Cassian Andor, a drifter and scavenger who becomes involved in the fight against the Galactic Empire. A prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the series also covers the rise of the rebellion movement across the galaxy.

‘Star Wars’ Never Loses Its Magic

At the 77th Emmys, Andor’s “Welcome to the Rebellion” episode was awarded the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series trophy. The Star Wars show had also been nominated for Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Drama. The recognition hinted at an improvement in storytelling quality for the series since, in the previous year, it had only been nominated in the costume, sound, and visual departments. Given the current trajectory, this could just end up being the greatest show in the franchise.

    ‘Slow Horses’ (2022 – Present)

Based on Mick Herron’s Slough House series of novels, Slow Horses ushers us into the Slough House, an MI5 department consisting of agents who’ve failed missions but not annoyingly enough to get sacked. Those banished there are known as “slow horses,” and are forced to endure verbal abuse from their condescending boss, Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), who hopes to frustrate them until they quit.

    Deeper Spy Stories

Slow Horses had four nominations for writing, directing, drama, and lead actor, but only won for directing, specifically for the episode, “Hello Goodbye.” This came as no surprise. In an era of numerous spy shows, the British show has established itself as a flawless offering, with none of its seasons getting less than a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes. In total, it has been nominated for 14 Emmys so far. Fans of high-octane espionage won’t love it, but those looking for more realistic, slow-burning tales will have a blast.

    ‘Hacks’ (2021 – Present)

Hacks digs deep into the life of a comedian. Legendary Las Vegas funny-woman Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) feels her career is at risk since her residency is waning. She thus reluctantly partners with Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder), a fiery comedy writer who has recently been “canceled.” As they get acquainted, they discover more painful truths about an industry they had long idolized.

    Breakthrough for Einbender

Hannah Einbender won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, another expected outcome since she was a hot favorite. The actress had a major reason to celebrate after being nominated twice previously without a win. Einbender has often been praised for her chemistry with her colleague, Jean Smart, who was also nominated in this year’s awards. There’s no doubt that we’ll witness more excellence from her in the comic years. Be sure to also check her out in the upcoming horror movie, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.

    Stream it on HBO Max

    ‘Adolescence’ (2025)

Featuring episodes shot in one continuous take, Adolescence covers the aftermath of the arrest of Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), a 13-year-old boy, suspected of killing a female classmate. Viewers are taken through the anguish experienced by Jamie’s family members and the heated nature of the interrogations, where the young boy bursts out in moments of anger. We also learn that the girl had rejected his advances.

The Rise of a Teen Star

Adolescence has been one of the biggest hits in 2025, so it was expected to reap big at the Emmys. From six nominations, it won for writing, directing, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, and best show (all in the Limited or Anthology Series category). The awards meant everything to Owen Cooper, who became the youngest ever male actor to win an Emmy. However, Stephen Graham’s win was controversial, with many arguing that Colin Farrell deserved more for his extraordinary performance in The Penguin. Still, Graham has always been consistent, so no one should ruin this moment for him.

    ‘The Pitt’ (2025)

The Pitt’s success challenges the commonly held view that lightning cannot strike the same place twice. John Wells and Noah Wyle, who had both found fame and success in ER teamed up to create the new medical drama and the results have been spectacular. Here, the focus is on the emergency department of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Even as they endure underfunding and shortages, they remain unwavering in their duty.

    Greatest Medical Drama?

Widely praised by the larger medical community for accuracy, The Pitt received 13 Emmy nominations, winning five, including Outstanding Drama Series (the first medical drama since ER to do so), and acting wins for Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, and recurring guest star Shawn Hatosy. The show has had quite a strong start, considering that even the ‘90s aired for two seasons first before winning the big Emmy. Will it last as long as other popular medical dramas? It’s hard to tell, considering that it’s a streaming series, but all indicators point to a healthy and lengthy run.

    ‘Severance’ (2022 – Present)

Produced and primarily directed by Ben Stiller, Severance centers on the employees of a biotechnology corporation that have undergone “severance” — an innovative medical procedure that separates their work memories from their home memories. Drama thus arises not in any significant way from science but, rather, from the conspiracies uncovered as well as the outrageous professional and emotional implications of the procedure.

    Hottest Sci-Fi Thriller on TV

Severance has wowed viewers ever since it premiered, and it will continue to do so until it ends. The mindboggling workplace drama entered the 2025 ceremony as the most-nominated series — with a whopping 27 nominations. Unfortunately, the high recognition only translated to a few actual statuettes. Britt Lower won the award for Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while costar Tramell Tillman won for Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Still, the latest awards are ideal rewards for a show that boasts of wonderful performances all around.

    ‘The Studio’ (2025)

Seth Rogen stars in The Studio as Matt Remick, the newly appointed boss of the flailing film production company Continental Studios. A cinephile, Matt aims to find the perfect balance between Continental’s mission to produce high-grossing films with his own desire to produce artistic films. Hollywood heavyweights like Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron and Steve Buscemi appear as themselves in the show.

    Hollywood Appreciating Itself

After turning in fine work, Seth Rogen had an unforgettable night at the award ceremony, earning his first-ever Emmy. The critically acclaimed show picked up four Emmys in total. These include a Best Actor win for Rogen, Best Writing for a Comedy Series, Best Comedy Series, and Best Directing for a Comedy Series. Life’s surely great for Rogen, a man who has never shied away from venturing onto the small screen from time. Watch him in Pam & Tommy, too, if you never have.

    ‘The Penguin’ (2025)

A spinoff of the 2022 film, The Batman, The Penguin stars Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin. Formerly the right-hand man of deceased crime boss Carmine Falcone, he now seeks to control Gotham City. But all that will be hard considering the numerous foes he makes along the way.

The Most Unforgettable Performances in a Superhero Show

There’s something for just about everyone in The Penguin — even casual viewers who don’t care much about Batman. This feels like a top-rate crime drama rather than a superhero show, and we have great performances, a gritty story, and wonderful cinematography to thank for that. Regrettably, the show has only one Primetime Emmy. Cristin Milioti walked away with Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, with Colin Farrell missing out on the Lead Actor award he had been projected to win. Better luck next time, Colin.
