Dragami Games has announced an 11th hour delay for its Switch 2 version of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. Originally announced for release this month, the developer has taken to X to announce that the remaster has been bumped to “early 2026”.
The reason for the delay is not because of any development issues. Rather, according to the post, the original Switch 2 release was slated to be digital only. However, Dragami Games “received many requests” for a physical edition of the game after its announcement for Nintendo’s new console. As a result, “with the cooperation of multiple publishing partners,” there will be a physical release for multiple regions.
However, similar to the situation with Terminator 2D: NO FATE, Dragami Games has elected to delay the release in order to allow the physical and digital releases of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP for the Switch 2 to be released at the same time for fans.
As mentioned in the initial announcement, the Switch 2 Edition of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will sport “significant improvements to graphics and frame rate” over the original Switch version that was released last year.
If you already own the original Switch version of the game, Dragami announced that you’ll be able to upgrade the game to the Switch 2 version, though it’s unclear if this will be a free or paid upgrade.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is currently available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, as well as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
