The God of War TV show has received another big casting update.
Prime Video is developing a television series based on the popular God of War video game. Earlier this week, it was announced that Ryan Hurst has been tapped to play Kratos in the show.
Who has joined the cast of the God of War TV show?
Now, per Deadline, it has been revealed that Teresa Palmer has also been cast in the series. She will play Phoebe/Sif, who is Thor’s wife and “the goddess of family.”
Palmer is known for playing Diana Bishop in the A Discovery of Witches TV show that ended in 2022, while she’s also appeared in series such as The Cleaning, The Last Anniversary, Mix Tape, and The Family Next Door. Her filmography includes 2006’s The Grudge 2, 2011’s I Am Number Four, 2013’s Warm Bodies, 2015’s Point Break, 2016’s Lights Out, 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge, and 2024’s The Fall Guy, among other titles.
Deadline’s article states, “God of War follows father and son, Kratos (Hurst) and 10-year-old Atreus, as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.
“Kratos, the titular character of the entire franchise, is Spartan by birth and a god by nature. Raised in a martial culture, he rose to command armies in the service of his homeland until one day he made a fateful deal with Ares, the Greek God of War, and lost his soul in exchange for being victorious in battle.”
The show comes from writer, showrunner, and executive producer Ronald D. Moore. A premiere date has not yet been set; however, it is known that the series will receive at least two seasons.
