FOX Cheat Sheet: Memory of a Killer Wobbles as Doc Cruises to Renewal

We’re fast approaching upfronts, and FOX has already started shaping its 2026–27 lineup.

Some shows are locked in, others are sweating it out, and a few new series are waiting in the wings.

FOX has already picked up some new series as its schedule takes shape. Let’s take a look at how the current shows are looking for renewal.

    The Simpsons – Renewed

The Simpsons may never disappear from the airwaves. It may not be as good as it once was, but it still performs very well for FOX.

The Simpsons Season 37 is currently averaging 1.86 million viewers and a 0.46 rating in the demo.

We’re not privy to the ins and outs of FOX’s deal with Disney+, but the show keeps landing multi-year renewals, so there’s that.

Memory of a Killer – Could Go Either Way

Memory of a Killer had a solid debut in January with a football-inflated 7.38 million viewers and a 1.35 rating.

As expected, the numbers have dropped fast since. Memory of a Killer Season 1 Episode 5 slid to 1.63 million viewers and a 0.11 rating in the demo.

Unless streaming shifts the narrative, this one is truly on the bubble.

    Universal Basic Guys – Renewed

Universal Basic Guys has lost a bit of steam this season, but the numbers must still make sense for FOX.

Universal Basic Guys Season 2 is holding respectably, with 1.58 million viewers and a 0.38 rating.

Despite not having the notoriety of some of the network’s other animated sitcoms, this show is holding up very well.

    Animal Control – Renewed

Animal Control has never been a big hit for FOX, but it has been a reliable option.

Joel McHale toplines the comedy series, which is currently up 90% year-to-year in the demo.

Animal Control Season 4 is currently pulling in 1.68 million viewers and a 0.34 rating.

The show has already secured a Season 5 renewal.

    Best Medicine – Renewed

Best Medicine has been just what the doctor ordered for FOX. The feel-good dramedy has struck a chord with viewers.

Best Medicine Season 1 is averaging 3.22 million viewers and a 0.25 rating among adults 18-49.

The series has been one of the most stable shows on FOX this season. It makes sense then that FOX has already renewed it for Season 2.

    Family Guy – Renewed

Like The Simpsons, Family Guy has become a mainstay of FOX’s schedule.

Family Guy Season 24 is currently averaging 0.92 million viewers and a 0.25 rating.

These numbers may seem low for such a popular comedy, but remember that the show makes most of its money from streaming.

    Bob’s Burgers – Renewed

FOX has done a fantastic job with its animated series, and Bob’s Burgers is no exception.

Bob’s Burgers Season 16 is currently pulling in around 0.93 million viewers and a 0.23 rating in the demo.

The numbers are not massive, but the show is a digital hit. It has already been renewed.

    Doc – Certain Renewal

Doc Season 2 is averaging 2.47 million viewers and a 0.22 rating in the demo.

These numbers are right on par with where the medical drama was at last season.

Given that FOX gave it a full 22-episode second-season order and it held steady, we should probably expect a similar order for next season.

    Krapopolis – Renewed

Krapopolis may not get as much hype as the rest of FOX’s animated offerings, but its numbers are strong enough to stick around.

Krapopolis Season 4 is currently pulling in around 1 million viewers and a 0.22 rating.

FOX is happy enough with those numbers because it has already been renewed.

    American Dad – Renewed

American Dad was MIA from FOX’s schedule for years, but all has seemed right in the world since its return.

American Dad Season 22 is currently playing with 0.79 million viewers and a 0.21 rating.

The series has already been renewed, indicating that FOX sees a bright future ahead for it.

Murder in a Small Town – Certain Renewal

This Kristen Kreuk crime drama has yet to secure a renewal on FOX, but the series is already reportedly filming Season 3.

Of course, the show is a co-production, which makes it more financially sensible for FOX.

Plus, the numbers for Murder in a Small Town Season 2 (2.25 million/0.16 rating) are relatively even with last year’s results.

Going Dutch – Could Go Either Way

Going Dutch scored a surprise renewal after a low-rated freshman run.

Sadly, the numbers have not improved, but they are relatively stable compared to a year ago.

Going Dutch Season 2 is averaging 0.90 million viewers and a 0.15 rating in the demo. It will be interesting to see what FOX does with this one.
