3 Popular NBC TV Shows Renewed for New Seasons

Three NBC TV shows have been renewed for new seasons.

NBC has already renewed comedy shows Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical for new seasons. Shows like Stumble, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, The Hunting Party, and Brilliant Minds are still waiting for final decisions as to whether or not they’ll return, though the latter of those titles was recently pulled from the network’s schedule.

What NBC TV shows have been renewed?

Per Variety, NBC has officially renewed Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med.

This means that all three Chicago shows will return for the 2026-2027 broadcast season, with Fire having been renewed for its 15th season, P.D. for its 14th, and Med for its 12th.

The article explains, “The renewals, which were all seen as a lock for some time, have come down the pike even earlier than they usually do. NBC has typically announced pickups for the One Chicago franchise in April ahead of the NBCUniversal upfront presentation to advertisers, which takes place in May.

“All three shows remain ratings stalwarts on the NBC primetime lineup, even this late in their runs. They continue to power NBC’s Wednesday night schedule, airing back-to-back. On March 4, NBC aired another One Chicago crossover event, with all three shows hitting season highs in total viewers as a result. Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment maintains a very strong relationship with NBC under the company’s rich overall deal with Universal Television. Renewals for Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and Law & Order: Organized Crime are all still pending.”

Universal Television produces all three shows in association with Wolf Entertainment. Wolf and Peter Jankowski also serve as executive producers on all three of the Chicago series.

Previous episodes and seasons of Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med are currently available to watch on the Peacock streaming service.
