Superchef Emeril Lagasse’s New Sports-Inspired Food Show Lands on Netflix Streaming Today

With the NFL season getting underway, Emeril Lagasse is bringing his cooking skills to game-day celebrations. The celebrity chef’s food series is now streaming on Netflix, giving sports fans some fresh inspiration before the weekend games begin.

The first season of Emeril Tailgates arrived on Netflix on September 5 after originally debuting on The Roku Channel. The series follows a unique setup where fans from across different cities come on board at his City Park studio, based in New Orleans. The superchef teaches those fans to elevate their own local dishes ahead of game day.

Through the series, Lagasse explores one of America’s biggest football traditions: tailgating. And the show’s name is also derived from the tradition. Each episode explores how regional food traditions become part of the game-day experience for the football fans.

Additionally, tailgating focuses on the different dishes fans prepare before kickoff. And Lagasse meets people who have turned pre-game cooking into a major tradition, often spending hours preparing food for fellow supporters.

How Emeril Lagasse turns NFL tailgating culture into must-watch TV

Throughout the season, Lagasse hosts fans from different football cities and explores the regional dishes that they associate with their teams and hometowns.

The chef samples everything from Texas brisket and Buffalo chicken wings to Kansas City barbecue and New Orleans jambalaya. He also meets passionate fan communities who bring elaborate grills, smokers, and traditional foods.

After experiencing the local food culture, Lagasse takes inspiration from the dishes. He puts his own spin on classic tailgating recipes while keeping the flavors and traditions that make them popular.

The series also includes recipes designed for viewers who want to prepare food for their own watch parties. The dishes focus on feeding groups and turning familiar game-day favorites into something more memorable.

All episodes of Emeril Tailgates Season 1 are now streaming on Netflix.
