Spider-Man and PlayStation are synonymous, and PS5 owners can now get free avatars inspired by Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The bonus perk comes during the week of the film’s digital release.
PlayStation originally advertised the avatars as a perk for PS Plus subscribers via the Sony Pictures Core app (or for non-subscribers who digitally published the film). However, universal PSN voucher codes have since been distributed that allow any PlayStation user to claim the avatars free of charge, regardless of their subscription status.
The six-piece PSN avatar set features Spider-Man, Zendaya’s MJ, Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey, Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds, and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher. This isn’t the first time that PlayStation owners have enjoyed bonus content linked to the Spider-Man film franchise. Previously, Insomniac Games added the superhero’s suits featured in the Marvel movies into its Spider-Man games for free.
How to redeem the Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatar codes on PS5 & PS4
To redeem the Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars, PS5 and PS4 owners need to follow these steps:
- Open the PlayStation Store tab on the console
- Select [More], followed by Redeem Code
- Use this code if using a US account: 726X-HNE4-P22M
- Use this code if using a EU account: RG8L-32NF-3NLP
After following these steps, PlayStation owners can set it as their default avatar visible to friends and everyone else.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day was released earlier this year to rave reviews. The film went on to break box office records, grossing over $2.5 billion. Those who have not bought the film can watch the opening scenes for free. The movie follows Spider-Man facing off against Jean Grey, marking the latter’s introduction in the MCU ahead of the X-Men reboot releasing in 2028. It’s unclear whether Tom Holland will reprise the role in the upcoming Avengers films.
The film’s digital version is now available to purchase or rent on Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango, Sony Pictures Core, and Kaleidescape. The IMAX version of the film is exclusively available on Sony Pictures Core. The film will come to DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD at a later date.
