Scribe Nick Antosca‘s Verity may not have been very good, but it was a box office hit, so it’s no wonder that he’ll soon be back with another psychosexual horror flick with a loaded cast.
Variety reports that Lili Reinhart (Forbidden Fruits), Mark Duplass (pictured above in Creep), Danny Ramirez (The Last of Us), Suki Waterhouse (Seance), and Lukas Gage (Smile 2) have joined Violet.
Talk about one hell of a cast.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Two years after the sudden death of his fiancée, Violet (Waterhouse), Sean (Ramirez) has finally begun to move on, finding love with his childhood friend Kate (Reinhart). But when the couple moves into the home Sean once shared with Violet, he starts receiving unsettling text messages from someone, or something, claiming to be his dead ex. In an age of constant connectivity— where every text, photo, and digital footprint lingers forever— do exes ever really let you go?”
At that point I would simply burn my phone and use it as an excuse to never get a new one, but maybe that’s just me.

I’m already excited for this considering the cast. But the filmmaker involved is the icing on the cake. Patrick Brice (the Creep franchise) will direct from a script by Antosca and Alana B. Lytle.
Brice has shown an incredible talent for crafting odd yet frightening horror through the Creep films and Shudder series, and I’d expect he’ll bring much of the same to Violet (especially with Creep star Duplass involved).
The project hails from SK Global and Generator Entertainment. FilmNation Entertainment will launch sales at AFM. Producers are Kelly McKee and Kenneth Browning for Generator Entertainment, alongside Elizabeth Haggard and Dylan Tarason for SK Global, and Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat. Executive producers are Jeannine Tang, Chris Collins, Rasool Alizadeh, Gemma Levinson, and Jackson Stewart.
Production on Violet is set to begin in the spring of 2027.
