Tenacious D‘s Kyle Gass joked about Donald Trump’s attempted assassination during a concert over the weekend.
While performing in Sydney, Australia on Sunday, Gass was presented with a cake on stage in celebration of his 64th birthday. Tenacious D bandmate Jack Black asked him to “make a wish,” to which Gass responded, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”
Gass’ comments came less than 24 hours after the attempted assassination of the former president by a 20-year-old gunman during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump survived the shooting, but an attendee of the rally was killed and two others were injured. The gunman was also killed by US Secret Service agents.
Jack Black recently hosted a campaign fundraiser for President Joe Biden. In October, Tenacious D are scheduled to embark on a US tour in five swing states, with all proceeds going toward Rock the Vote to support voter registration, education, and rights.
I used to love @tenaciousd and thought Jack Black was funny. None of them or their music/movies will ever be played in our home again. Ever. Sickening. Not funny and done in a foreign country is even worse. If you think it’s OK, unfollow and block me. pic.twitter.com/2KG2uzUKEY
