Television personality and anchor Robin Roberts puts herself through a lot for the sake of a good story. Recently, she dished on what it was really like to participate in Hot Ones. What did she have to say about her time participating?
Robin Roberts Is One Of The Most Recognized Anchors Out There
Robin Roberts is easily one of the most recognized anchors and television personalities working today. Roberts began her broadcasting career in 1983, as a sports anchor in Mississippi. From there, she used that as a foundation to continue climbing the ladder.
It certainly makes sense as to why Robin Roberts began her career as a sports anchor, as she played both basketball and tennis in college. In the decades since she got her foot in the door of the broadcasting world, she has more than branched out into other things, becoming a staple in households around the country through her reporting and interviewing.
Roberts Was Recently A Guest On Hot Ones
For anyone unfamiliar with Hot Ones, it’s a show where celebrities answer a variety of questions, but, there’s a catch. They answer these questions while eating progressively hotter wings. This sets the stage for a hilarious environment that has become a big hit with fans.
Recently, even Robin Roberts was a guest on the popular segment. Host Sean Evans brought his wings to the Good Morning America set recently, and Roberts went toe-to-toe with some of the hottest wings there are. As much as this makes for good television, there are also some serious risks involved as well.
Robin Roberts Gives The Brutal Truth On What This Is Really Like
When Robin Roberts stepped up to the plate to take on Hot Ones, she set the bar high right out of the gate. Host Sean Evans quipped that they normally don’t film segments as early as this one was filmed.
After she completed the segment, Roberts said: “My lips are on fire.” She also admitted, roughly a half hour after she ate her last wing, that “no one tells you about the hang time.”
Anyone who has ever eaten a particularly hot batch of wings knows that the potential for the heat to linger is one of the things that truly gets you in the end. Even after you stop eating the wings, and even after you’ve had your glass of milk or other remedy, the heat can still stick around.
From the looks of it, this is exactly what happened to Robin Roberts, even after she survived the Hot Ones segment on Good Morning America. At the end of the day, Robin survived, and she took it like a champ.
