While Tom Holland is already an established actor in his own right, an offer to star in a Christopher Nolan movie still feels like a remarkable moment for him.
It was announced that the Spider-Man actor had been cast in the acclaimed director’s next movie for Universal Pictures. He will be starring alongside Matt Damon, though character details — as well as the movie title — have yet to be revealed.
The movie will mark Holland’s first time working with Nolan, who is best known for his work on highly regarded movies like Memento, Insomnia, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, and — most recently — Oppenheimer.
What did Tom Holland say about his involvement in Christopher Nolan’s next movie?
In an interview with Good Morning America, Holland said that he’s “incredibly excited” for the project and that he felt “obviously honored.” And though he had no knowledge about what the project is about, he’d still “100%” say yes “without a shadow of a doubt.”
“When the opportunity came in, it was the phone call of a lifetime — reminiscent of getting the call about Spider-Man 10 years ago. It’s an amazing thing for me. I’m super proud and I’m really, really excited,” said Holland.
Production on Nolan’s next project is expected to begin in early 2025. You can watch the full interview with Holland down below:
In addition to starring in a Nolan feature, Holland also confirmed that filming date for Spider-Man 4 will start “next summer” — marking an exciting year ahead for the actor.
Outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor has also starred in a number of films like The Impossible, In the Heart of the Sea, The Lost City of Z, The Devil All the Time, Cherry, and Uncharted.
