Lindsay Arnold is best known to fans for her work on Dancing with the Stars. However, before joining the reality competition series, Arnold was part of another high-profile gig, though fans might have missed her. Recently, the star shared the surprising amount she was paid for the job.
One Of Lindsay Arnold’s First Hollywood Gigs Was A Popular Disney Film
Arnold arguably rose to prominence as a finalist on the ninth season of So You Think You Can Dance. In 2013, she joined Dancing with the Stars as one of the show’s youngest pros.
Arnold would even win the twenty-fifth season, partnered with Jordan Fisher. She would even end up setting a record for earning nine perfect scores within a single season.
The star recently made an appearance on the Lightweights podcast. During this time, she actually looked back at one of her earlier television roles. As she revealed, one of her first forays into Hollywood was in 2007’s High School Musical 2.
Arnold shared, “That was the highlight of my childhood.” She continued that, “I was, maybe, 14, and I got to get paid.”
Arnold admitted she wasn’t paid too much for her appearance, but was happy to be part of the film. As she shared, “I think I got paid literally $50 for, like, three full days, but that was the coolest thing ever.”
Arnold Wasn’t The Only DWTS Alum To Appear In The High School Musical Films
“I was like, ‘I’m getting paid to dance, like what? I would do this for free.’ Then, being able to tell my friends I was going to be in High School Musical was pretty cool.”
“I was in the second movie. So, the first movie had already come out and had its whole thing.”
Arnold was a background extra in the film. She noted she also appeared in the follow-up film, High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
The star revealed she got to work with some of the stars, such as Ashley Tisdale and Lucas Grabeel. However, she never filmed a scene with Zac Efron or Vanessa Hudgens.
As noted by The Express U.S., Arnold wasn’t the only Dancing with the Stars alum to appear in the High School Musical films. Britt Stewart was also a dancer in all three films. She also joined Dancing with the Stars back in season 23.
Stewart also shared a clip of her performing in the first film on Instagram. The clip also included Stewart performing the dance years later. As she wrote in the caption, “Once a WildCat, always a WildCat.”
