The View moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, has been very busy lately. She jet set to Paris and even cleared her schedule for a special red carpet event for Saturday Night Live. However, recently, she was missing again from the show. Now, fans have started to get concerned.
The View Shake-Up
Recently, The View‘s normal panel has been shaken up. Not only has Whoopi Goldberg been traveling with a great opportunity to show off her slim body, but Joy Behar has been out quite a bit, too. Sadly, Whoopi was out again on February 19. This left the table spread thinner, with only four ladies sitting at the table: Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. The last month has felt like a moderator shuffle, with Joy and Whoopi swapping back and forth.
Whoopi Goldberg Missing
When The View opened up on February 19 with Joy Behar sitting in as the moderator while Whoopi Goldberg was out. In her absence, Joy welcomed everyone by letting the audience know that Whoopi had the flu. Joy said, “Hello everybody, and welcome to The View. Unfortunately, I know you’ll be unhappy, but Whoopi is not here with us, she has the flu.” She pauses as the audience groans in sync, and Sara Haines cringes at the idea of the sickness. Likewise, Joy confirms, “Yes, feel better, Whoops. We miss you. Come back as soon as you can.”
Then, she discusses that the flu is hitting hard. Looking back at the other panelists, she asks if people need to be wearing masks again. Alyssa Farah Griffin makes a quick reminder to everyone to sanitize their hands and wash them frequently. Jokingly, Sara casually adds in, “Don’t go near children.” Everyone laughs, and Joy tags on to avoid “immature” people as well.
Fans Are Concerned
After Joy Behar let The View audience know that Whoopi Goldberg was out sick, many fans were concerned. Notably, over the weekend, Whoopi prioritized going out in public for the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special. Sadly, now Whoopi, 69, is laid up with the flu. Furthermore, being out and about, rubbing elbows with many celebrities, must have taken its toll on her.

- Additionally, another person noticed it wasn’t her normal day off, “Where’s Whoopi?! It’s not Friday.”
- Although some people were worried about Whoopi’s absence, others were even more concerned about the moderation of the show. Someone else notes, “Whoopi’s not there. It’s going to be a day of everyone talking over each other.”
