Cho’s stated mission is to urge and train believers to be evangelists, to reach what he describes the countless perishing souls, and to motivate and equip all believers to become evangelists who are full of enthusiasm, joy and gratitude. The words of these believers will become contagious.
Cho wrote GO! Evangelism to “challenge and encourage all Christians to participate in the amazing salvation work of God, because His return is imminent.”
Under his ministry, established almost 25 years ago, Cho has trained evangelists in many cities around the country using the work, GO! Gospel Tracts, the Powerful Seeds of the Gospel, for which some 12.5 million copies have been published, comprised of 12 to 24 pages each.
Cho’s version of evangelism is different from the others. “It is a simple yet very powerful command with profound implications,” he writes. “GO! Evangelism removes all possible problems and stumbling blocks of existing evangelism approaches and makes us listen to the Lord’s earnest request.”
So what convictions are necessary to become an evangelist? Cho points to five: have a clear assurance of salvation, be sure of the hope in heaven, have the assurance of repentance and forgiveness, never be ashamed of the Gospel, and have the mission you received from the Lord and the love of many lost souls.
Important & Urgent Teachings
The book serves as a manual with content, ideas and messages to guide evangelists in their preachings. Chapters focus on everything from understanding salvation to the importance of utmost devotion to the great blessings being offered to all. As an evangelist, says Cho, one will pray daily, read the Bible daily, attend worship regularly, always love God with all your heart, live as a witness of Christ, have fellowship, and live a life strengthened in faith.
Cho is a passionate conveyor of his message, not holding back in the least as to its importance and its urgency. As he spreads that message to others, and they in turn become evangelists in their own right, his teachings become that much more powerful.
“Because evangelism is God’s will, the Lord’s great command, and the purpose of existence of the church and the saints, all believers must evangelize,” writes Cho. “Evangelism is not an option given to us but rather a holy and solemn command God has given us.”
