    Fendi x Skims: How the Collaboration Came to Be and

    Kim Kardashian West of Skims and Fendi’s Kim Jones officially announced their collaboration on Monday, Oct. 25. The upcoming collection, to be debuted on November 9 at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET, will focus on fit and fabrication, including pieces across the shapewear, hosiery, beachwear, RTW, and accessory categories. The designer duo tapped famed photographer Steven Meisel to capture a sneak peek at the looks worn by models Precious Lee, Jessie Li, Tianna St. Louis, Grace Valentine, and of course, Kim herself. The news is even big enough to require its own website, if that’s not enough to convince you this is the collaboration of all collaborations. In a press release, Jones tells the story about how the idea came about:

    “My team and I were sitting around a table at the studio in Rome. Suddenly, all the women went silent and started looking at their phones. I didn’t know what was going on, but they were waiting for the launch of the new SKIMS collection. It was then that I thought: let’s do something together,” he said. As longtime friends and lovers of quality and luxury, Jones and Kardashian West got to work on a colorful line inspired by archival sketches of Karl Lagerfeld’s for Fendi in 1979. There will be bags, shoes, twisted tube tops, pop colors, and tight sashes, along with a hybrid Fendi x Skims logo plastered across jersey and knitwear.

    “My FENDI is about creating something for every woman, every different shape – and that’s something at the heart of SKIMS too. Kim Kardashian West is doing a lot to celebrate inclusivity – including her admirable work with social justice in America – and as a hard-working woman with a family, she is constantly striving to do her best. These values are something to celebrate,” Jones said.

    While you can sign up for alerts online about the drop, the range will also be available in select Fendi stores globally and will retail at $100 to $4,200.
