Of all the lavish jewelry featured in “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” we can’t stop daydreaming about the queen’s wedding ring. In the Netflix limited series, actor India Amarteifio portrays the young British monarch, who’s bedecked in gems for every scene. Fans don’t have to wait long to see Charlotte’s nuptial bling; she marries Corey Mylchreest’s King George III during episode one, and the producers included a close-up, slow-motion shot as George slides the giant sparkler on her finger. Upon first look, the ring appears green — which would make sense considering Charlotte’s professed fondness for emeralds — but it actually features light gray quartz stones that complement each of her elaborate gowns.

Costume designers Lyn Paolo and Laura Frecon sourced the ring from New York City–based jewelry brand Larkspur & Hawk, which lent countless pieces from its archive for the Shondaland production. Set on a decorative split gold band, the main stone is a rectangular table-cut white quartz surrounded by a halo of 14 smaller white quartz stones. Each stone is backed by gray foil to provide more sparkle, which was a common technique among jewelers during England’s Georgian period. And sparkle it does; Charlotte’s wedding ring is hard to ignore throughout the show, whether she’s picking oranges, bonding with Lady Danbury, or dancing with her husband.

Though some aspects of the prequel series aren’t historically accurate — orchestral covers of Alicia Keys didn’t play at their soirées back then, for one — Charlotte’s wedding ring is. When the real Queen Charlotte married King George III in 1761, she was given a rectangular ring with a miniature portrait of George behind the main stone and a halo of smaller diamonds on the outer edge. The show’s interpretation may not include a teeny-tiny photo of Mylchreest, but the shape, band, halo, and overall aesthetic are undeniably similar.

Larkspur & Hawk designer Emily Satloff has shared tons of behind-the-scenes details about the show’s jewelry since “Queen Charlotte” hit Netflix. In one Instagram post centered on the titular character’s wedding ring, she revealed Amarteifio’s reaction to wearing it while filming. “When I met @india_amarteifio earlier this month, she shared how it was when she put this ring on her finger, that it really helped her get into character as the queen. The power of jewelry really is incredible!” Satloff wrote.

The original “Bridgerton” series features loads of similarly enchanting jewelry. Daphne Bridgerton’s dainty pearl wedding ring from Simon Basset instantly caught our eye in the first season, and we couldn’t resist dissecting the deeper meaning behind Kate Sharma’s flower-shaped betrothal ring from Anthony Bridgerton. Queen Charlotte’s quartz stunner is uniquely her and just as striking as her many ornate wigs.
