Malia Obama and her alleged lover, Dawit Eklund, were sighted together in New York City on Monday, a month after they were seen together in Los Angeles. The 24-year-old former First Daughter and the 33-year-old record producer were spotted out and about in New York City’s Soho area. The group then made its way to Chinatown for a late lunch.
However, Obama and Eklund did not confirm their relationship status by showing any public signs of love during their outing, so the paps were left wondering. The two walked the majority of the time with their arms crossed in front of them.
Yet, they did not appear to be angry with one another, as they were captured on camera cracking a sly grin. Obama wore her hair in long braids, a denim blouse, beige cargo trousers, sneakers, and dark sunglasses for a laid-back and sophisticated style.
While Eklund matched her urban style with a green top, khaki bottoms, sneakers, and a black jacket covered in white daisies, she wore a similar outfit. In August, the TV writer and music executive were photographed hugging one other while on a West Coast outing.
The representatives for Malia did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Page Six on the question of whether or not the two are dating.
It would appear that the Obamas’ eldest daughter enjoys taking her significant other on trips to New York City. Barack and Michelle Obama are the first families.
