Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow took the top spot! The other nine books are: Javier Zamora’s Solito, Johann Hari’s Stolen Focus: Why You Can’t Pay Attention — and How To Think Deeply Again, Stephen King’s Fairy Tale, Geraldine Brooks’ Horse, Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Carrie Soto Is Back, Barbara Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead, Celeste Ng’s Our Missing Hearts, Jonathan Freedland’s The Escape Artist: The Man Who Broke Out of Auschwitz To Warn the World and Don Winslow’s City on Fire.

BOOKS-TO-SCREEN

We have a ton of books-to-screen news this week, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

First off, Variety reported that Judy Blume’s Forever … is headed to the small screen in the form of a Netflix series. Mara Brock Akil will be the showrunner; and will executive produce alongside Blume.

We also received news from Deadline that Kirsten Stewart will be directing Lidia Yuknavitch’s The Chronology of Water! While Amanda Montell’s Cultish: The Language Of Fanaticism is being adapted for a television documentary series by Topic Studios.

Prime Studios and Hello Sunshine have just released the perfectly adorable trailer for the forthcoming Something From Tiffany’s, which will be streaming an adaptation based on the holiday love story by Melissa Hill. Sourcebooks Landmark also revealed the cover art of the movie tie-in edition! The film stars Zoey Deutch and Kendrick Sampson. Something From Tiffany’s will premiere on December 9th. AWARDS AND ACCOLADES WORTHY OF NOTE:

Big news, literary lovers! This year’s recipients of the National Book Awards have been announced! You can find the winners in five crucial categories are here.

The American Library Association revealed the shortlists for its Andrew Carnegie Medals. David Santos Donaldson, Morgan Talty, and Julie Otsuka were named in the fiction category, while Margo Jefferson, Ed Yong and Rachel E. Gross were shortlisted in the nonfiction category.

Entertainment Weekly recently reported that Ballast Books will defer the further release of the late pop singer Aaron Carter’s unfinished memoir, Aaron Carter: An Incomplete Story of an Incomplete Life, co-written with Andy Symonds.

Crown announced in a news release that Bernie Sanders will take on “a system that is fueled by uncontrollable corporate greed” in a new book coming next year, titled It’s OK To Be Angry About Capitalism.

If you’re looking for some children’s literature, we have some news you’re going to love! According to People magazine, singer and actor Mary J. Blige is set to release her first children’s book in 2023. HarperCollins will publish her book, titled Mary Can!, which is illustrated by Ashleigh Corrin, in the spring. But wait, that’s not all! Feiwel & Friends will publish actor Jake Gyllenhaal’s The Secret Society of Aunts & Uncles, which is co-written with Greta Caruso and illustrated by Dan Santat.
