According to Zillow, the ‘Amityville Horror’ house, depicted in the 1979 film in Toms River, New Jersey, has sold for $1.46 Million.

The colonial-style house at 18 Brooks Road in Toms River stood in for the actual house for the original 1979 film and its subsequent sequels in the 1980s. A structure was built around portions of the home to make it look closer to the real Amityville home during the movie’s filming; even the eye windows had been added.

In 1981, the house was moved to its current location on Brooks Road. Originally, the home was at the corner of Brooks and Dock Street, where a new house had been built. The boathouse that was constructed during production still remains at the old site.

Back in May of 2021, an overnight fire had caused damage to part of the home due to a propane tank located on a wooden deck having exploded; it was reported that no one had been home at the time of the incident.

Now, this landmark will be the pride and joy of new owners as it was sold on January 24th, 2023.
