Fans Are Comparing This Paramount+ Hit Series to ‘Veronica Mars’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’


The #1 horror series on Paramount+ this week has a lot of spirit. It’s also striking a chord with people who love genre shows centered on teens with supernatural problems. Of course, it is none other than, School Spirits scaring its way up the charts this week. If you are unfamiliar with the title, read the synopsis and watch the trailer below.

When Maddie finds herself trapped in afterlife limbo at her high school, she decides to investigate her own mysterious disappearance.

School Spirits was created by Megan Trinrud & Nate Trinrud. The cast includes Peyton List, Kristian Ventura, Milo Manheim, Spencer Macpherson, and Kiara Pichardo.

Many fans are comparing it to other high school horror shows of yesteryear. Shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, and Ghosts. It also weirdly enough reminding people of The Breakfast Club.

Okay, but like… the finale of #SchoolSpirits left me with more questions than answers so I need season two asap because that was a whole plot twist 😩 and I was NOT prepared for it whatsoever.

School Spirits debuted on March 9th, and all 8 episodes are haunting Paramount+. The series was renewed for a second season. So, fans shocked by the finale’s twist should hopefully get some answers sooner rather than later. 

I’m adding this to my list because I’m trying to catch up on 2023 titles. I feel anything compared to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Breakfast Club is probably worth my time. Let me know if you are one of the people keeping this show alive on the Paramount+ charts at @misssharai.
