What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write A River of Lies?

My wife and kids! For years they listened to my courtroom stories as a New England litigator and finally convinced me to write “A River of Lies”

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of A River of Lies, what would they be?

Europe’s Superstitious or Van Halen’s “Jump”… I just love 80s rock!

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Yes and no! I am really into crime fiction but I also enjoy historical fiction, Star Trek fan fiction, and fantasy.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

Bernard Cornwell’s Sharpe’s Assassin.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I would probably say either the moment our hero, Timothy Pickering, rises to the occasion and agrees to represent one of his students charged with murder, or the moment Timothy and his private investigator, Adrian Watson, discover a third party may be responsible for the death of Jillian Russo.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I like to walk around the house a lot as I write… I literally can’t sit still while I write.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

“Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things.” – George Carlin

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

Never rush to judgement because the truth is NEVER what it seems.
