What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Wrecked?

I’m actually a huge gravity falls fan and so Burned (the first book in the series) was inspired by that show. From there, I just expanded the town and decided to write all of the friends books. Madelyn and Flynn had such a fun and cute meeting and I had that idea in my head from the first book so it was a blast to finally get to tell their story!

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Wrecked, what would they be?

I think that I listened to Harry Style’s As It Was about 10,000 times while I was writing this book, so I’ll have to go with that one!

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Romance! I’ll read pretty much any sub-genre of that.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

I just grabbed Emily Henry’s new book [Book Lovers] and I can’t wait to dive in!

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

I loved writing the movie scenes. It was so much fun to go back to famous rom com movies and see how Flynn and Madelyn could make them their own.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I have three dogs and I joke that they’re my shadows. We have a big window in my office and I have all of their dog beds lined up there so they can chill while I work. Aside from that, I tend to listen to the same song on repeat for each chapter.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

I hope that Madelyn and Flynn made you laugh and I hope that you want to check out the rest of the series!
