New Production Company Neon Noir Working on Their First Film

We have been waiting a good while to see what Guillermo Del Toro would bring to the story of Pinocchio and today we finally get an official full peek. The first teaser trailer has finally come out and it looks great. It has some serious Return to Oz vibes going on in it. Plus, I like that the trailer does go out of its way to say that this isn’t the tale that you are familiar with. So, we will definitely have some surprises along the way. The animation looks great and has that haunted edge to it all.

The synopsis for Pinocchio goes like this:

Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro reinvents the classic tale of the wooden marionette who is magically brought to life in order to mend the heart of a grieving woodcarver named Geppetto. This whimsical, stop-motion film directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson follows the mischievous and disobedient adventures of Pinocchio in his pursuit of a place in the world.

The film stars Gregory Mann, Ewan McGregor, David Bradley, Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman.

Pinocchio arrives on Netflix this December.
