The Last Drive-In Pumps New Blood into Walpurgisnacht!

Everyone grab your flaming herb torches, it’s time once again for Walpurgisnacht! Everyone’s favorite night of witch burnings and mountaintop orgies.

The only question is, will you side with Joe Bob in stopping the unholy rites? Or will you participate in the orgy of witches with Darcy? I think I know what the mutant family will decide.

As its tradition, fans scoured the Shudder catalog to try and divine what witchcraft-themed movies would be showcased. An easy choice would be the Blair Witch films that were recently added to the line-up, but that wouldn’t be the drive-in way.

No, Joe Bob in his infinite wisdom gave us Witchboard and The Devil’s Rain instead. These may not be the best movies, one isn’t even necessarily on theme, but that isn’t what the drive-in is all about.

The Last Drive-In is all about Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the mail girl. Week after week fans tune in for bad jokes and awesome costumes.

Even if you don’t like the movie, odds are you will keep watching just to learn way too much information about a director that you have never heard of.

Don’t get me wrong, these are fantastic films in their own way. Witchboard is the most unintentionally homoerotic horror film outside of Nightmare on Elm Street 2.

The Devils Rain may have a five-dollar script but it has a triple-a cast. It even has pre-cult John Travolta. To be fair, the film was a money laundering scheme set up by the Columbo crime family.

If you are wondering what happened at the Battle of the Brocken. I won’t spoil it for you but let’s just say that Darcy ends up getting some head when it’s all said and done.

I hope to see you all during the live stream this Friday, I’ll be tweeting along as usual. As always, make sure to check back here for The Last Drive-In updates and all of your horror news.
