The cast for the highly anticipated upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux is growing, as Deadline is reporting that Brendan Gleeson is set to join the sequel.

Gleeson will join a cast that is set to feature the return of Joaquin Phoenix in his titular role as the Joker, Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, and Zazie Beetz also likely to return to the sequel. It’s currently unclear who Gleeson will play in the film, which is set to begin production later this year ahead of its planned release date of October 4, 2024.
Brendan Gleeson is perhaps best known for his performance as Alastor Moody in the Harry Potter films, but is no stranger to the world of Hollywood as a whole, having won three IFTA Awards, two British Independent Film Awards, and a Primetime Emmy throughout his career. His next role will come in the 2022 film The Banshees of Inisherin, which is set to have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
