Mike Epps Joins Sony’s Dakota Johnson-Led Madame Web Movie

According to Deadline, The Upshaws star Mike Epps has been tapped to join Dakota Johnson in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Madame Web movie, which serves as one of its latest entries to the studio’s growing Spider-Man universe films. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 7, 2023.

Epps has appeared in a number of films including Next Friday, Bait, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, The Honeymooners, Hancock, Soul Men, The Hangover films, Meet the Blacks, Girls Trip, Dolemite is My Name, and more. Sony’s Madame Web will be led by Dakota Johnson as the titular Spider-Man character. Joining Johnson are Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight) and Emma Roberts (American Horror Story) along with Golden Globe nominee Tahar Rahim.

Created by writer Denny O’Neil and artist John Romita Jr. in 1980, Madame Web is a blind psychic that has become a major player in the world of Spider-Man due to her ties to “The Great Web,” a multiversal construct that ties all “Spider” characters together across the multiverse.
