Overlord IV Episode 9 Recap
Albedo declines King Ramposa III’s proposition and she declares war on the Kingdom. They are given a month to prepare, and Ainz leaves a message saying he will not use any large spells. Meanwhile, Brain is taking care of Gazef’s sword, Razor Edge. He plans on getting his swordsmanship students out of the city. A month has passed, and Ainz commends the Floor Guardians for their respective tasks. Furthermore, Ainz tells them how it’s important to learn from failures and setbacks. He also informs them that he will give them more tasks since the Sorcerer Kingdom covers more land now.
Pestonya and Nigredo, Albedo’s sister, request to meet with Ainz. They attempt to bargain with him, wishing for the Sorcerer Kingdom to stop massacring humans. They argue that humans have great potential for the development of civilization. However, Ainz points out they cannot allow the possibility of humans overthrowing them. Pestonya suggests leaving a few survivors in relation to the Carrot and Stick plan. Ainz accepts the suggestion since he also needs to consider the minority’s thoughts in Nazarick.
Meanwhile, E-Naeul prepares for battle. Count Naeura gets the mithril adventurers of the Four Armaments to help defend the town. Lilynette, one of the Four Armaments, asks for a family heirloom as a reward. Count Naeura agrees to give her the Five-Colored Holy Sword as long as she marries his twelve-year-old son as a concubine. The battle begins, and the adventurers and soldiers have a hard time fighting off the undead army and two Death Knights. After some struggle, an adamantite adventurer appears and defeats the Death Knights. Meanwhile, it seems like Ainz was expecting that defeat to happen — much to the surprise of the Floor Guardians.
