What is shaking up the music industry right now that is getting you excited?

I think for me it’s that more people are realizing how poorly streaming services are compensating their artists. I hope that this will cause some sort of change in the streaming service game and we can start getting justice for poor musicians like myself!

How are you shaking up the industry with what YOU have going on?

I don’t exactly know if I’m shaking up the industry (haha) but I’m contributing what I can! And hopefully others will enjoy that!

What comes with a price when you’re chasing your dreams?

It can be very difficult chasing your dreams, it can mean compromising other things you’d like to prioritize and it means putting yourself out on a limb a lot of the time, but you just have to believe that it’s worth it. If you’re chasing your dreams, you just have to keep running and not look behind you.

What is a new dream that has sparked your interest that you want to start pursuing?

While I love creating my own music, I have been very interested in co-writing for other artists. I’ve been helping out a bit with another musician friend on his upcoming musical project and I find it just as rewarding helping on someone else’s project as working on my own. I hope to do more of that in the future.

Consistency is key. What else is the key to your success when you want to start something new?

I’d say follow-through is a very important key for me. I like to jump around and work on multiple things at a time so it’s important to remind myself that I need to follow through and finish things instead of just doing a bit then moving on.

Aside from professionally, how are you doing personally? Any new updates you want to share with your fans?

I’m surviving! (haha) It’s a crazy world out there and right now I’m just trying to make sure I’m balancing my mental health needs with my music career goals. It’s very easy to lose that balance so it’s something I’m trying to focus on right now.

Do you compare yourself ever when you look at your peers whether it’s professionally or personally?

Always! It’s not a good thing to do but I always find myself listening to my fellow musician’s work and thinking “man, they’re so much better at this and that than I am” or “my stuff will never sound as good as theirs”, things like that. It’s a terrible headspace to be in and I try not to get into it but sometimes I can’t help it. Sometimes I have to remind myself to believe in myself, eventually I always pull through!

2022 is just beginning! Excited or exhausted already?

A little bit of both! (haha) But I’m coming through with full force either way!

Who or what is helping you keep the peace with yourself?

Definitely my fellow indie musician friends. I don’t know where I’d be without them. Shout-out to Scoopski, Fuzzruckus, Eric Linden, Brian Lambert, The Negatrons and Mikey J to name just a few for all their support as my peers!

How do we keep up with you?
