How would you describe your overall musical style ?

Melodic with an occasional edge of dissonance.

Is there a particular person who influenced your music career?

Beatles, Dylan, Wagner, Beethoven

What can new listeners take away from your latest release The Dream?

Originally an operatic aria and part of my Jefferson Opera Spirit Fire, it has taken on a life of its own as a rock recording, although without the typical rock trappings of bass and drums.

Is there a particular piece of music you absolutely loved to create?

I would say The Dream one of my all-time favorites creating, as it just poured out of me melodically, true to the emotions I was feeling at that moment, and then the poetry perfectly captured what I was feeling.

What is the best concert you have ever attended?

Rolling Stones at Gillette Stadium; George Harrison at Madison Square Garden; Tristan and Isolde by Wagner at Staatsoper Berlin conducted by Barenboim;

Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?

I see myself shifting back and forth between artistic isolation, return to travel to see performances and produce performances and recordings, and dealing with the practical world of survival.

Is there a song on your CD “On The Back Nine” release that stands out as your personal favorite, and why?

The Dream is definitely my favorite. It is mystic and real, classical ad popular, and very expressive of my spirit and self.

How have you evolved as a composer & producer over the last 2 years during our pandemic?

I feel that remains an open question.

If you could meet, play a gig, co-write a song, have dinner, with any composer  (dead or alive) who would that be?

Bob Dylan

What’s next for your music career?

No one knows what is next, which is the mystery of life.  I have in mind a large-scale performance of the John F Kennedy Requiem in November 2023 to mark the 60th anniversary of his death,  I intend to work on my major opera Spirit Fire to prepare for performances, and to get back to some live pop and rock to see if it inspires new compositions or recordings.  And to produce some performances and recordings for my wife Olga Zhuravel Maselli, as well as to watch the progress of my son Claudio’s burgeoning pop career as Clide.  Seems perhaps enough.
