The Isley Brothers and Beyoncé reveal new collaboration: Stream

The Renaissance isn’t over yet: Two weeks after releasing her long-awaited seventh solo album, Beyoncé has up with The Isley Brothers for a remix of the band’s 1975 song, “Make Me Say It Again Girl (Part 1 & 2).” Ronald Isley teased a clip of the new version on Instagram today ahead of the full song’s proper release on Friday, August 12th. Listen below.

Collaborating with The Isley Brothers is just one of many notable accomplishments Bey has achieved in her Renaissance era: The album is her seventh solo album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and its lead single “Break My Soul” just ascended to No. 1 on the Hot 100, becoming her first solo song to do so in 14 years. She’s also shared a remix of “Break My Soul” that interpolates Madonna’s “Vogue” — with the latter’s blessing, of course.

Though we were all at the edge of our seats waiting for Renaissance, its release has had a few roadbumps. After the album had already leaked two days early in Europe, Beyoncé edited the lyrics to “Heated” after fans pointed out a word in the song is often used as an ableist slur. She also removed an sample of Kelis’ “Milkshake” from the song “Energy” after Kelis accused Bey of failing to clear the sample.
