    Heistheartist Releases New Album

Heistheartist’s latest EP, “Under the Influence of Love (Acoustic Soul),” is a shining example of the power of faith-based music. Although some may not be familiar with Christian music, Heistheartist’s unique blend of gospel, soul, and acoustic sounds offers a refreshing take on the genre that is sure to capture anyone’s attention. The synergy that runs throughout the project crosses genre borders in a way that feels far more Prince/Devon Hynes than anything you’d hear in Sunday School, and that exact tone is a very hard line to walk — thankfully, Heistheartist has the talent and cred to back his style up!

At only five tracks in length, the EP is concise yet impactful, with the opening and closing tracks serving as brief, instrumental covers that bookend the project nicely. The EP starts with a piano instrumental cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Me & Mr. Jones,” which sets the stage for the following tracks by foreshadowing the potential for a relationship gone awry. Heistheartist then transitions into his original song “Boom (Doo Wop Version),” which captures the excitement and euphoria of love at first sight. However, trouble soon arises with his cover of Kelis’ “Caught Out There,” which highlights the pain of betrayal and heartbreak.

The standout track of the EP is Heistheartist’s cover of Chloe X Halle’s “Ungodly Hour,” which tackles the difficult subject of finding God’s love even during our darkest moments. The song is expertly crafted, with Heistheartist’s emotive vocals perfectly complementing the song’s introspective lyrics.

Heistheartist’s original song “God is On My Mind” continues the theme of God’s love and triumph over evil, with the artist’s passionate delivery driving home the message that no matter what life throws at us, we can always find solace in our faith. The EP closes with a piano instrumental cover of Erykah Badu’s “Out My Mind, Just in Time,” which serves as a fitting conclusion to the project’s overarching message of finding hope and redemption through God’s love.

One of the most impressive aspects of Under the Influence of Love (Acoustic Soul) is Heistheartist’s ability to bridge the gap between secular and religious music. Even those who may not typically listen to gospel or Christian music will find something to appreciate in the EP’s catchy melodies, soulful vocals, and thoughtful lyrics.

Heistheartist’s vocal performance is the undeniable highlight of the project. His range is impressive, and he has a knack for imbuing his vocals with emotion and nuance that bring each track to life. Additionally, the EP’s stripped-down, acoustic sound lends a rawness and authenticity to the project that makes it stand out from other contemporary Christian music offerings.

Overall, Under the Influence of Love (Acoustic Soul) is a must-listen for anyone seeking a refreshing take on Christian music. Heistheartist’s unique sound and thoughtful lyrics make for a powerful listening experience that will leave listeners feeling inspired and uplifted. This EP is a testament to the fact that great music can come from any genre, and that faith-based music has the potential to reach and resonate with a wide audience.
