Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s inner circle believe that the now-exes could reconcile amid the actress’ pregnancy, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
“Their relationship has been so passionate and it has always been volatile — they break up and get back together — and that comes from being passionately in love with each other,” the insider tells Us. “They’re so in love that they get so hurt and sensitive. The passion reveals itself as intense love and intense hate at times.”
Fox, 38, and Kelly, 34, started dating in 2020 after costarring in Midnight in the Switchgrass. Kelly (real name Colson Baker) proposed in January 2022 and they continued to experience ups and downs, including wedding planning and multiple breakups.
Fox announced last month that she and Kelly are expecting a rainbow baby after a previous miscarriage. (She also shares three sons with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, while Kelly and ex Emma Cannon are parents of 15-year-old daughter Casie.)
“Her pregnancy amid their relationship ups and downs isn’t a surprise. It’s amazing one day and bad the next,” the insider tells Us. “Colson has been really wonderful with her about it and the baby has brought them much closer together.”
Fox and Kelly’s friends believe that welcoming the baby “will change their life.”
“It’s exactly what MGK needs to calm down and chill,” the source adds. “It’s the best recipe for their relationship. … They are happy about it and it’s brought them closer together.”
Fox and Kelly have yet to address their latest breakup, which comes months after the Transformers actress explained why she did not want to address their relationship status anymore.
“As of now, I don’t have a comment on the status of the relationship per se,” Fox said during a March appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “What I can say is that [he] is what I refer to as being my twin soul, and there will always be a tether to him no matter what. I cannot say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow. Beyond that, I’m not willing to explain.”
Fox previously said her past pregnancy loss was “very difficult for both of us.”
“It sent us on a very wild journey together and separately and together and apart … trying to navigate, ‘What does this mean?’ and ‘Why did this happen?’” Fox said during an appearance on Good Morning America in November 2023.
