The Last of Us is one of HBO’s most successful series in recent years. If you liked it, here are 10 other shows you’re bound to enjoy.
“Season 2 is going to be very important. It’s going to dig into a lot of sci-fi concepts that were just pointed out in Season 1, and they are going to be fully blown.” Mosteirin picks up the thread: “We believe that we will manage to close the whole story in a beautiful way, with probably eight more episodes.”
‘The Eternaut’ Will End With Season 2
Producer Matías Mosteirin, meanwhile, believes that two seasons of The Eternaut is the perfect number, allowing the show to continue the eerie atmosphere of Season 1 without pushing things too far. He explained:
“We can sustain it for a second season, but no more than that. We feel that, artistically, that is the cycle we need to sustain the mystique and the adventure of making the show. We want to challenge ourselves in the second season just as we challenged ourselves in the first one. We want to go for more, technically and creatively. We want to use all the knowledge we gained to do things on the second season that we didn’t manage to do on the first.”
Created and directed by Bruno Stagnaro (Okupas, Pizza, Beer, and Cigarettes) who co-wrote the series alongside writer and actor Ariel Staltari (El puntero), The Eternaut is based on the comic of the same name by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López. Starring Ricardo Darín (Argentina, 1985, The Secret in Their Eyes) as lead character Juan Salvo, the rest of the cast includes Carla Peterson (Blondi), César Troncoso (Yosi, the Regretful Spy), Andrea Pietra (An Unexpected Love), Ariel Staltari (Recurrence), Marcelo Subiotto (Puan), Claudio Martínez Bel (Rojo), Orianna Cárdenas, and Mora Fisz (Tierra Incógnita).
The Eternaut Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix, where it is already climbing the charts, and you can check out the official synopsis for the series below.
“One summer’s night in Buenos Aires, a mysterious deadly snowfall wipes out most of the population and leaves thousands stranded. Juan Salvo and his friends embark on a desperate struggle for survival. Everything changes when they discover that the toxic snowstorm is only the first attack by a foreign army invading Earth. The only way to stay alive is to join together and fight. No one will survive on their own.”
