Netflix Adds 3 Star-Filled Christmas Movies Today

Netflix has added three new movies for the holiday season that subscribers can now add to their Christmas watchlist. All three star-filled films were released in 2023.

What are the new Christmas movies available on Netflix today?

As of today, romance TV movies A Cowboy Christmas Romance and Christmas at the Chalet are finally streaming on Netflix. Subscribers can now also watch Malin Akerman’s holiday comedy movie, The Christmas Classic, on the streaming platform. This comes more than two years after Quiver Distribution distributed it in select theaters and on VOD.

A Cowboy Christmas Romance was directed and produced by Jake Helgren from a screenplay written by Sarah Drew. The cast included Jana Kramer as Lexie, Adam Senn as Coby, Mary-Margaret Humes as Millie, Bruce Thomas as Harrison, Max Ehrich as Jack, Reagan Marum as Abby, and more.

“Real estate closer Lexie Crenshaw returns to her hometown of Tubac, Ariz., one week before Christmas. While there, she tries to convince a horse-whispering rancher to part ways with his family’s land while reconnecting with her father and brothers,” reads the synopsis.

The Christmas at the Chalet movie was led by Golden Globe winner Teri Hatcher, best known for her roles in TV shows such as Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Desperate Housewives. Lucie Guest directed the film with Julia Cranney writing the screenplay. Hatcher was joined by William deVry, Dan Payne, Brendan McRae, Aleksandra Cross, Patti Allan, and more.

“Ex-TV host Lex finds herself spending Christmas in a chalet with her son, ex-husband, and his new girlfriend. To avoid things getting too close to home, she volunteers to work at the chalet, all while documenting it for her new followers,” reads the synopsis.

Besides Akerman, The Christmas Classic also starred Amy Smart, Ryan Hansen, Chris Mullinax, Austin Nichols, Mary Maxson, Pamela K. Witte, and more. The film was directed by Shane Dax Taylor from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nichols.

“This holiday movie follows Elizabeth, a transplanted ‘city girl’ type of career woman who returns to her hometown to buy a ski resort owned by her ex, Randy. She works for her fiancé’s father, so Elizabeth wants to clinch the sale at his behest,” reads the synopsis. “Randy objects to being bought outright but proposes an alternative. If Elizabeth could win their town’s annual Christmas-related competitions, he’d sell his property. The problem is, she needs to beat the long-running champion: her perfectionist sister.”
