Faces of Death Gets Grisly Teaser Trailer, Horror Movie Remake Sets Release Date

The first Faces of Death teaser trailer for the upcoming remake of 1978’s cult classic horror movie has finally dropped. The video features a series of creepy and grisly clips, teasing the remake’s vibe and tone.

Check out the Faces of Death teaser trailer below (watch more trailers):

When is the release date for the Faces of Death remake?

The new Faces of Death movie is now scheduled to arrive in theaters on April 10, 2026, pitting it against Halle Bailey’s romantic comedy movie You, Me & Tuscany. It will also debut in the same month as several high-profile movies, including The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, The Drama, and Michael.

The remake is directed by Daniel Goldhaber, who co-wrote the screenplay with Isa Mazzei. The ensemble cast includes Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things), Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria), Jermaine Fowler (The Blackening), Josie Totah (The Buccaneers), Charli XCX (100 Nights of Hero), Britton Webb (Day of Reckoning), JD Evermore (Rectify), Jared Bankens (NCIS: Origins), Sarah Voigt (Terrifier 2), Tadasay Young (Five Nights at Freddy’s), and more. It is a production by Angry Films and Divide/Conquer.

Producers are John Burrud, Greg Gilreath, Adam Hendricks, Susan Montford, and Don Murphy, with Rick Benattar and Mazzei serving as executive producers. The creative team consists of cinematographer Isaac Bauman, editor Taylor Levy, composer Gavin Brivik, production designer Christopher Stull, and costume designer Lauren Bott.

John Alan Schwartz directed the original 1978 movie. The documentary-style movie starred Michael Carr as Francis B. Gröss, a surgeon who begins to have a fascination with life and death. It featured graphic clips of people dying gruesomely. When the remake was first announced in 2023, it was revealed that Goldhaber and Mazzei would be using footage from the original movie.

“Faces of Death was one of the first viral videotapes, and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping-off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online,” said Mazzei and Goldhaber in a previous statement.
