Netflix’s 100% RT Superhero Show Takes Major Step Toward Season 2 Release

A critically acclaimed Netflix superhero show has received an encouraging update about Season 2 after multiple delays. The show’s creator took to Instagram to provide fans with a promising update on the new season’s status.

    Supacell wraps Season 2 production

Rapman, the showrunner, officially confirmed that he has wrapped filming for Supacell Season 2 and is currently editing it. He provided the update on his Instagram page. He posted an image of himself in the editing room with the first look of Season 2 displayed on the TV in front of him. It read: “Supacell 2. Only on Netflix.”

The post also included a message from the show’s creator in the caption. It read, “Due to circumstances out of our control we had to pause production for a while. But filming is finally done! I’m currently in the edit getting it ready. It’s coming and I PROMISE it will be worth the wait.”

The post garnered appreciation and excitement from the fans in the comments. The reaction is not surprising, given that Season 1 premiered two years ago, in June 2024. Subsequently, Netflix announced its renewal in August of the same year.

Based on Rapman’s previous post, filming for Season 2 began sometime in October 2025. Multiple reports later suggested that the delay was probably due to the showrunner’s busy schedule. Nonetheless, the show is now in high gear and is heading towards completion.

For the upcoming season, Rapman shared his directing duties with Koby Adom. Alongside the core cast, it will also add fresh faces. That includes Frank Bourke, Tiana Simone, Richard Keep, and Ed Allenby.

Supacell Season 1 debuted on Netflix on June 27, 2024, and received overwhelming critical acclaim. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a perfect 100% approval rating. Meanwhile, the users gave it a much lower score of 69%. It reportedly drew more than 34.5 million viewers in the second half of 2024 (via RadioTimes).
