Hit Batman Series Is Finally Returning With New Episodes 2 Years Later

Season 2 of a hit 2024 Batman animated series will soon arrive on Amazon Prime Video. The upcoming season is set to feature several new characters from the comics, including Roxy Rocket and Carrie Kelley.

Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 arrives on Prime Video in just over a month

Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from Friday, July 31, 2026. While a trailer for the Batman series has yet to surface online, a few stills from the new season were released earlier this month. It offers a glimpse at Season 2’s villains, such as the Mad Hatter, Joker, Riddler, and Scarecrow.

Bruce Timm developed the show and shares showrunner duties with James Tucker. The pair also serves as executive producers alongside J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, Daniel Pipski, Ed Brubaker, Rachel Rusch Rich, and Sam Register. Abrams produces the show under his banner, Bad Robot Productions, and Reeves produces it through 6th & Idaho Motion Picture Company.

The show reimagines Batman’s early crime-fighting career in a dark, noir-inspired version of Gotham City. While Batman remains as the central character, the show also focuses on new interpretations of iconic characters such as Clayface, Catwoman, and Barbara Gordon.

The show’s voice cast includes Hamish Linklater, Jason Watkins, Eric Morgan Stuart, Krystal Joy Brown, Jamie Chung, Diedrich Bader, and Cedric Yarbrough, among others.

Season 1 premiered on Prime Video on August 1, 2024. All of the season’s 10 episodes were released on the same day. In terms of ratings, the show received polarizing reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, the critics gave it a high score of 94%, while the audience rated it 55%.

Batman: Caped Crusader was originally created for Cartoon Network and HBO Max. However, the networks’ parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, dropped the show as part of cost-cutting measures . It was one of several titles affected by the decision. After considering big streamers, the showmakers decided to stream the show on Prime Video.
