Has Brilliant Minds Season 3 Been Canceled or Renewed at NBC?

Has Brilliant Minds Season 3 Been Canceled or Renewed at NBC?

NBC’s Brilliant Minds is all set to wrap up its second season, and fans are curious to know if the show will return for another season. There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the show’s possible third season, but what has actually happened? Here’s a breakdown.

Has NBC canceled Brilliant Minds or renewed it for Season 3?

Unfortunately for fans of the show, Brilliant Minds will not be returning for a third season. NBC has canceled Brilliant Minds Season 3. The Zachary Quinto-led series will not be returning to NBC’s lineup next year. It joins Stumble, the single-camera cheerleading mockumentary led by Jenn Lyon, which has also reportedly been canceled.

So, the final episode of Brilliant Minds Season 2, which airs on July 1, 2026, will also serve as the series finale.

The cancellation of Brilliant Minds is somewhat surprising, given the critical acclaim the show received. The medical drama has an approval rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and has generally received positive reviews from critics.

Many of the show’s cast members reacted to the cancellation.

“Thank you, Brilliant Minds,” Al Calderón, who joined the second season as Nurse Nico Silva, posted on Instagram, “What a life-changing experience. Met forever friends. Learned from the absolute best. Was reminded that my voice mattered. Learned that it’s okay to believe in yourself. Felt like I was part of something.”

Brian Altemus, who played Dr. Charlie Porter in both seasons of the series, also wrote, “Thanks for the ride. I’m really going to miss getting to work with these people. Not just the ones you see on screen, but the hundreds of other people that worked on this production.”

Tamberla Perry, who played Dr. Carol Pierce, posted a video on Instagram, saying, “Thank you to all the people who rocked with us for the past 33 episodes. The support means the world. It’s a very bittersweet, more better than sweet, moment. But sweet because I know that I was acutely aware of the good thing that I had. I was very cognisant of squeezing every bit of life out of that show.”

The final episode of Brilliant Minds will air on July 1, 2026.
