2023’s acclaimed sci-fi action movie from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards has found a new streaming home on Hulu. During its theatrical run, the Oscar-nominated film grossed over $104 million at the box office against a budget of around $80 million.

What sci-fi movie is now on Hulu?

Beginning today, Edwards’ breathtaking sci-fi movie The Creator is finally available to stream on Hulu. The 2023 film currently holds a 67% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while its Popcornmeter score is slightly higher at 75%. The ensemble cast included John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, Allison Janney, Ralph Ineson, and more. Following its debut, the epic sci-fi movie received two Academy Award nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound in 2024.

The Creator was directed and produced by Edwards, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Weitz. It was produced by Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, and Arnon Milchan, with Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Natalie Lehmann, Nick Meyer, and Zev Foreman serving as executive producers. The film also featured original music from award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

“Amidst a future war between the human race and the forces of artificial intelligence, Joshua, a hardened ex-special forces agent grieving the disappearance of his wife, is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI who has developed a mysterious weapon with the power to end the war. . . and mankind itself,” reads the official synopsis. “Joshua and his team of elite operatives journey across enemy lines, into the dark heart of AI-occupied territory . . . only to discover the world-ending weapon he’s been instructed to destroy is an AI in the form of a young child.”
