Kathie Lee Gifford has continued to share a lot about her life, even years after leaving her talk shows. In a recent share, she opened up about the possibility of romance after losing “the love of her life.” During the time, she also opened up about a hard time in her relationship.
Kathie Lee Gifford Was Married To Frank Gifford Until His Death In 2015
As a television personality, Gifford is known for her work with a variety of programs. From 1985 to 2000, she worked alongside Regis Philbin on Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee. Following this, she had an 11-year run alongside Hoda Kotb on the fourth hour of Today.
In her personal life, Gifford was married to Paul Johnson from 1976 to 1982. Following this, she was married to pro football player and television personality Frank Gifford from 1986 until his death in 2015.

Tragically, Frank passed away a week before his 85th birthday from a reported heart attack. The family later shared that he had chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
In an interview with People, over a decade after losing Frank, Gifford admitted that walking down the aisle again might not be in the cards for her. At this time, she revealed that she isn’t dating anyone and doesn’t really have plans to remarry.
For The Time Being, There Are A Lot Of Things Filling Up Gifford’s Life
Calling Frank the “love of her life,” Kathie Lee noted, “I am not dating anybody right now, and I don’t want to date. I’m not looking, and I don’t think I’ll ever get married again.”
Reflecting on her faith, Gifford shared that she wasn’t completely against the idea of another marriage, even if she doesn’t have any current plans to tie the knot again anytime soon. She shared, “I had an opportunity for that to maybe happen, and it didn’t work out. Frank will always be the love of my life. If God wants to do something miraculous, like give me another great love [then I’m open to it]. And, so, I leave room for the miraculous to happen.”

Gifford also felt that her faith helped her find comfort in losing her spouse. She noted, “He was one week shy of his 85th birthday, but he was ready to go. He said, ‘You know, hon, I’m not afraid. I’m starting to get really curious.’”
Despite the happy memories, the couple also went through some difficult times. Gifford admitted that they hit a rough patch in 1997 when she publicly learned of his affair, after it was shared by a news crew. However, she ultimately chose to reconcile with her husband. As she recalled, “I came home a week after that happened [to reconcile with Frank]. There’s not a day that goes by that somebody doesn’t come up to me and say, ‘I just want you to know I had separated from my husband, and I went back. We went for counseling. We healed our marriage.’”
Nothing Holding Her Down
In the meantime, there are a lot of things that are keeping Gifford busy. When it comes to her family, the star currently has five grandchildren. As previously reported, she also recently worked on a documentary about her life and released a new book, Nero and Paul.
