Rumors have come out over the past few months concerning Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show. Since then, it has been confirmed that one of the shock jock’s channels is indeed coming to an end. In fact, reports say that another well-known media personality will soon be taking over.
Howard Stern Previously Hosted Two SiriusXM Channels: Howard 100 & Howard 101
Stern is a broadcaster and comedian who is known for his namesake series, The Howard Stern Show. Originally syndicated on terrestrial radio from 1986 to 2005, the series has since been broadcast on SiriusXM.
Stern was known for hosting two different channels. Howard 100 was the main home for his live broadcasts and new shows. In addition, he owns a companion channel, Howard 101, which is used for archival shows and old interviews.
According to a report from The U.S. Sun, it was shared that Howard 101 will be going off the air on September 1, 2026. It’s going to be replaced by a new channel for Andy Cohen, with it becoming a new home for Radio Andy.
Howard 101 will stay on the satellite radio network and will continue to air new content. However, it also cut back to just one live show a week.
As previously reported, Stern laid off around 50 employees through two rounds of layoffs earlier this year. Reportedly, many of those impacted worked for Howard 101.
An Insider Claimed That Some Staff Assumed That Howard 101 Would Outlast Its Sister Channel
There had been speculation that the channel was coming to an end earlier this month. As a source previously told the outlet, “Howard has begrudgingly accepted that it’s time to scale things back, but now there are all these rumors that [the Howard 101 channel] may end up flat out cancelled, and that’s doing nothing for his mood.”
However, some staff thought that things would go in another direction. As a source also shared, “A lot of the staff who were laid off in the first round worked for his 101 channel. Those staffers thought since it was a channel focused on Howard’s legacy with historical clips and interviews, it would be the home for the archives moving forward.” Reportedly, these staffers assumed that their positions would be secure since they thought the archive channel would survive after the main channel came to an end.
This also comes out amid allegations of bad blood between Cohen and Stern. Sources told the outlet that Stern was previously announced after a video meeting with a SiriusXM exec featured a framed photo of Cohen in clear view behind their desk. Another insider claimed, “Andy’s interviews are regularly promoted by Sirius, while you just don’t hear much about Howard’s interviews these days.”
