Going through something hard while also being on the morning news is not easy as Today fans know. However, they aren’t the only ones who go through hardship. Rosanna Scotto, an anchor for Good Day New York, is also not having an easy year. As previously reported, earlier this year, she lost one of her beloved co-workers. Her former Fox 5 New York co-anchor, Ernie Anastos, passed away earlier this summer. Of course, she took this loss hard and went to her social media accounts to express what he meant to her.

“Remembering #ernieanastos . I enjoyed working with him, anchoring alongside of him on the 10 o’clock news., He was a good man and someone we really looked up to. We are all heartbroken. #ripernie,” she writes in her caption.

In the past, she has also explained that Ernie has been around since the very start of her career.

“When I was in college, I had the opportunity to be introduced to Ernie and ask him what it would take to get into the TV business,” she also says that she “very gracious with his time and advice.”

While this loss hit hard, it’s not the only grief she’s going through. In fact, she just lost her mom and has only recently gotten back to work.

    Remembering Her Mom

Just in the last month, Rosanna lost her mom, who was 90-years-old People reports.

On this morning’s episode of Good Day New York, the song “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” played before the weather forecast. While this seemed innocent enough, it brought Rosanna to tears.

“Sorry, sorry. This song reminds me of my parents,” she explains on air.

She continues, thanking everyone for the support they’ve shown her since her loss.

“Anyway, thank you so much for all the comments and text messages and whatever,” she says before joking about how her mother would’ve handled her crying on TV. “My mother would kill me right now if she saw me crying on the air, so we’re going to get it together.”

However, she didn’t leave it at that.

“I just want to say thank you to everybody who has been so kind and supportive of my mother’s passing,” she continues before finally concluding, “Anyway, like I said. Mom, I’m sorry.”

Needless to say, her co-anchors were nothing but supportive of her during this hard time.

“Rosanna, you have our deepest condolences from all of us here at Fox 5 and all of our viewers,” Dan Bowens said, while Meteorologist Mike Woods said, “Yes, nice to have you back. And we get it, we got you.”
