Donald Trump praised a longtime Fox News anchor following a sudden change at the network. Maria Bartiromo received a strong message from the president after Fox News Media confirmed her departure.
Her departure became effective Thursday, September 3, after Bartiromo spent over 12 years with Fox News Media. The company did not provide a reason for her departure in its initial announcement
On Truth Social, Donald Trump raved about Bartiromo’s work and popularity with viewers. He wrote, “I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great shows on FoxNews/Business. Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Who is replacing Maria Bartiromo at Fox News and Fox Business?
Fox Business will rename Mornings with Maria as Mornings with Fox Business starting Friday, September 4. The program will initially rely on rotating anchors rather than one permanent replacement.
The network will also rename Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street as FBN’s Wall Street. Cheryl Casone will host the rebranded program this week before rotating anchors take over. Over at Fox News Channel, Jason Chaffetz will host Sunday Morning Futures on September 6. Fox News has not yet named the show’s permanent replacement.
Fox Business also plans to reveal a new weekday programming schedule in the coming weeks. These changes follow Bartiromo’s final Fox appearances earlier this summer.
Bartiromo rose to prominence during her 20-year career at CNBC before joining Fox in 2014. She later became Fox Business Network’s global markets editor and hosted several programs.
Her Fox career also included interviews with Trump and moderating Republican presidential primary debates in 2015 and 2016. Fox News Media thanked her for her work and wished her well in her next chapter.
The network has not yet announced permanent replacements for Bartiromo’s former roles, but it is expected to do so in the coming weeks.
